Artist Statement
Art has a remarkable ability to connect us with different times and cultures, allowing us to discover human journey. Dutch Golden Age still life, with its detailed and symbolic approach, helps me appreciate beauty in new ways and offers fresh perspectives on 17th & 18th Century’s everyday objects.
I believe every object, whether symbolic or not, carries its own unique character and story. When combined, these elements create a narrative rich in meaning and depth. By delving into art history and collecting symbolic objects depicted in the Old Masters paintings, I use light painting to bring these artifacts together in compositions resulting in an extraordinary narrative.
In my work, I highlight the cultural and spiritual depth of symbolic artifacts, capturing their intricate details and textures to invite a deeper emotional and spiritual experience. My aim is to inspire reverence and reflection, fostering a greater appreciation for these timeless objects and their ongoing relevance.
I am devoted to creating light-painted still life art that not only inspires but also elevates the soul. By channeling the beauty of the Renaissance & Baroque still life artistry, my work aims to guide viewers toward a deeper connection with the essence of existence, inviting them to discover a profound sense of wonder and spiritual harmony.
Creative Process
Each photograph begins with a spark of inspiration, often influenced by the timeless elegance of the Renaissance and the Baroque periods. I carefully curate and arrange objects, using Light Painting technique to accentuate the object’s inherent beauty. This meticulous process requires shooting in a completely dark room with patience and precision, ensuring that every element enhances the overall harmony and balance of the composition.
